Body could be former Wyo woman

ALAMOSA, Colo. - Authorities say a body found in an Arizona state park may be the remains of a 19-year-old mother of two who disappeared in Colorado in 2002.

Rio Grande County, Colo., Sheriff Brian Norton said the body is believed to be that of Danice Day.

Day, who lived in Monte Vista, Colo., was last seen in January 2002. She had also lived in Laramie.

Norton said the remains were found in Arizona's Lyman Lake State Park. He said DNA tests are planned to confirm whether the body is Day's.

He declined to say what led investigators to the site.

No arrests have been made.

Agency moves problem grizzly

CODY - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has trapped and relocated a young male grizzly bear that had been climbing into horse corrals along the south fork of the Shoshone River.

The department trapped the bear on Sunday and moved it to the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River drainage, about 10 miles west of Crandall, on national forest land. The release site is located within the Grizzly Bear Primary Conservation Area and is currently occupied bear habitat.

The game department encourages people to keep all sources of food out of the reach of bears.

Gear auction nets $8.2M

GILLETTE - Amid a slowdown in the energy industry, a Wyoming auction of oil field equipment has netted $8.2 million from 1,100 bidders.

The auction was Tuesday in Gillette. A dozen companies offered 480 pieces of equipment, including trucks, trailers, tractors, loaders and hydraulic excavators.

The total bid was about what auctioneers had predicted.

The sale was conducted by Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers. The company says 450 Wyoming bidders were registered, but only 142 of them bought equipment.

Ritchie Brothers says about 60 percent of the equipment left the state.
