National Guard meetings
* The Wyoming National Guard has scheduled town meetings around Wyoming to update military personnel, community members, legislators, retirees, and families on current events within the Wyoming National Guard. Library hosts film showing
* Oct. 26, 7 p.m., the film "The Big Buy: Tom Delay's Stolen Congress," the story of one of the most blatant power grabs in American history, will be shown at the Albany County Public Library as part of the Stand Up For Peace! Fremont County Orchestra
* Oct. 27, 7 p.m., the Fremont County Orchestra has scheduled its Fall Concert entitled, "From Renaissance to Rodeo," to be held in the Lander Valley High School Concert Hall. The program includes works from Frescobaldi, Bach, Gluck, Hayden, Beethoven, Chopin, Satie, Stravinsky, and Copland. Tickets are $6 for adults and $20 for families and are available at the door. A reception will follow the concert.
Centennial Community Theatre
* Oct. 27-29 and Nov. 3-5, the Centennial Community Theatre presents a dinner theatre production of "The Girl in the Freudian Slip," a comedy by William F. UW events
* Oct. 27, The University of Wyoming's Planetarium will present the laser show, "Laser Laughs" at 6:30 p.m. and "The Sun" at 8 p.m. in the lower level of the UW Science Complex. Tickets are $2 for students and seniors, $3 for the general public, and free for children ages five and under.
* Oct. 28, the University of Wyoming's Department of Music will present "Jazz @ A&S" at 7:30 p.m. in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors. Parking and shuttle service are available from the corner lot of 10th and Lewis Streets for individuals with disabilities.
* Oct. 30, William Wulf, the U.S. National Academy of Engineering president will discuss "Rising Above the Gathering Storm" as part of the UW Graduate School Distinguished Speaker series at 1 p.m. in the Wyoming Union ballroom. Admission is free.
* Oct. 31, the Wyoming Union and the UW sororities host "Safe Treat," a night of trick-or-treating and games for Laramie-area school children in the Wyoming Union and on Sorority Row. Admission is free.
* Oct. 31-Nov. 5, the UW Theatre and Dance Department hosts a performance of "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" each night at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Fine Arts Center studio theatre. Tickets are $14, or $11 for seniors and $7 for students.
* Nov. 30-Dec. 3, The UW Theatre and Dance Department hosts a performance of "The Nutcracker" each night at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Tickets are $16, $13 for seniors and $8 for students.

Haunted Trolley Tours

Lander Community Concert Association
* The 60th Anniversary Season of the Lander Community Concert Association kicks off with each performance being held in the Lander Valley High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. Season subscription tickets are $40 for adults, $15 for students (age 21 and under), and $90 for a family (two adults and affiliated students 21 and under). Marriage seminar
* Registration is happening now for the "Keeping the Wow in Your Vow" marriage seminar scheduled for Nov. 3-4 at the Lander Best Western Inn. The seminar is for couples of any age, married or engaged. Cost is $75-100 per couple, with a "Getaway package" available for $150. Land use discussion in Powell
* Nov. 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m., five land use experts will discuss critical issues facing Wyoming during an all-day seminar entitled, "Agriculture + Mining = ???," which will be held in the Trapper Rendezvous Lounge of the DeWitt Student Center at Northwest College. Red Desert documentary
* Nov. 9, 6:30 p.m., the Wyoming Outdoor Council and Friends of the Red Desert are hosting a screening of the documentary film "A Land Out of Time," which lays out the frantic rush to drill for natural gas in the Rocky Mountain West, telling the story through the ranchers, hunters and outfitters. WWII dedication ceremony
* Nov. 12, the Fremont County Veterans War Memorial Committee will conduct a dedication ceremony by and for veterans for the World War II plaques at the Fremont County Courthouse Memorial site in Lander. Evanston meth conference
* Nov. 13-14, The Uinta County Methamphetamine Initiative will sponsor a statewide meth prevention conference. Bridger-Teton revision workshops
* The Bridger-Teton National Forest invites the public to get involved in the revision of the Bridger-Teton Forest Plan. The objective of these workshops is to present information that Forest personnel have collected over recent months concerning current conditions throughout the Forest, and learn what the public sees as the "Need for Change." Each workshop runs from 6-9:30 p.m. The dates and locations are as follows:

Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra
* The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra presents its 2006-07 season entitled, "A World of Color," celebrating the brilliant colors that great composers use in creating masterpieces. Parent-education seminars
* The Wyoming Children's Access Network provides parent-education seminars for divorcing, separated and never-married parents. The seminar is provided monthly in Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Gillette, Jackson, Lander, Laramie, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Sheridan and Torrington and provides information about the impact of parental conflict on children and teaches the parents skills to help with the difficult transition. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and other adults close to the children are welcome to attend as well.There is a nominal fee for the seminar that may be waived upon request, based on need. Fiber Art show
* The Fiber Art Committee's ninth annual display, entitled "Fiber Art 9," will be displayed on the mezzanine of the Sheridan County Public Library. Items featured in the exhibit, which runs through Oct. 27, include beautiful works of knitting, quilting, weaving, silk ribbon embroidery, and many other techniques. Info: (307) 674-0777.
Big Horn art exhibit opens
* The Bradford Brinton Memorial and Museum hosts the Dorothy Marie Dolph exhibition through Nov. 11. The exhibit is a tribute to this remarkable Wyoming woman artist and entrepreneur of the early 20th century. Seventy-eight of Dolph's oils, miniature and larger scale pieces, as well as one watercolor will be on display, with gallery hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Wyoming Arts Council exhibition
* The Wyoming Arts Council will host a new exhibition, "Coil & Weave," featuring the talents of artists Ann Arndt and Jennifer Rife. Art exhibition opens in Ucross
* The Deborah Ford photography exhibition, "Common Ground/Symbiotic Equivalence," will be on display through Dec. 15 at the Ucross Foundation Art Gallery, 30 Big Red Lane. The exhibit presents 38 framed images of land and life-forms that Ford photographed in Wyoming, Arizona, Minnesota and Oregon. UW art exhibition
* The University of Wyoming Art Museum, in the Centennial Complex at 22nd and Willett Dr., will display paintings from the exhibition, "The Taos Society of Artists, 1915-1927," through Dec. 22. The Taos Society is a group of 12 artists that paint the land and the people of northern New Mexico.
