BISMARCK, N.D. -- The North Dakota Highway Patrol says snow and ice were factors in a crash on Interstate 94 that killed a Wyoming man.

The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the 56-year-old man from Cody, who was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by another Cody man. The pickup went out of control and rolled about 6:15 a.m. Monday in Burleigh County, between Bismarck and Steele.

Icy roads made the drive to work difficult for many North Dakotans.

In Bismarck, police recorded 38 crashes from 7:15 a.m. to about 9:30 a.m. Monday. No serious injuries were reported.

In Fargo, light snow made bridges and overpasses slippery. The Highway Patrol reported eight crashes, including three rollovers, between 6 a.m. and 7:10 a.m. on Interstates 29 and 94 in Fargo and West Fargo.
