JACKSON - People enjoying camping in the development at Lakeside Lodge on Fremont Lake near Pinedale will have to find another campground, as a reconstruction project for the lodge eliminates the campground.
Bridger-Teton National Forest Supervisor Kniffy Hamilton approved a slightly scaled-down development on Fremont Lake with some stipulations, but allowed a level of construction predicted in a revised draft plan.
Stipulations include restricting stored boats on the property to 10, and constructing a new pavilion and lodge a minimum of 100 feet from shoreline and cabins a minimum of 50 feet from the shore. The existing campsites will be removed by September 2008, and the existing boat launch will be removed with proper drains, according to the decision released earlier this month.
An original plan, allowing for more development, was appealed last year.
