RIVERTON -- The Riverton City Council has decided against proposing an ordinance that would ban cell phone use by drivers.
During recent discussion on the issue, most of the council members were not in favor of a cell phone ban.
One expressed concern about being able to enforce it. Another councilman compared talking on a cell phone while driving to talking with a passenger or eating.
Riverton Mayor John Vincent said the subject is closed, for now.
Cheyenne and Rock Springs have recently passed ordinances banning the use of cell phones while behind the wheel.
