RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A forensic expert is trying to determine the identity of some human skeletal remains discovered in a state park near here, the Freemont County coroner said.

The bones are male and have probably been there for two to three years, coroner Ed McAuslan said. Rabbit hunters discovered the remains Friday in a secluded wooded area of Boysen State Park.

A forensic anthropologist will use dental records or DNA to identify the bones, McAuslan said. The scientist will also try to figure out how the person died.

Along with the bones, a duffel bag and a back pack were found in the immediate area, but it is unknown if the items belonged to the deceased, McAuslan said.
