Officials work on 'many unanswered questions'
RIVERTON -- Local authorities now say a woman also was shot in last weekend's incident that included the shooting death of a 34-year-old man.
The woman was identified Friday as 34-year-old Chris Hill of Lander. Law enforcement officers say she was airlifted to a hospital in Denver after suffering from injuries to the right side of her body. Hill's condition hasn't been released, authorities said.
Earlier this week, the Fremont County sheriff's office announced that William Doc Stewart was killed by gunshot at a residence in Milford.
Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan said Stewart died of a gunshot wound to the chest. An autopsy was conducted Monday by a forensic pathologist at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo.
The shootings happened Sunday at a residence on North Fork Road. The sheriff's call log records the incident happening about 4 a.m.
Two others were also in the house at the time of the shooting and alcohol was a factor in the incident, according to a statement released Friday afternoon by the sheriff's office.
The release stated a "large caliber" handgun was used in the incident and investigators still have "many unanswered questions."
Evidence is being analyzed both locally and at a state crime lab.
