CHEYENNE — A jury in Wyoming has found a woman not guilty of killing her 16-month-old son.
Jurors in Cheyenne deliberated two hours Thursday and five-and-a-half hours Friday before finding 25-year-old Sabrina Sawicki not guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
KGAB Radio reports jurors also found Sawicki not guilty of reckless endangering.
An autopsy concluded the boy died of "abusive head trauma" and prosecutors argued Sawicki had shaken and slammed him against something in April 2017.
Defense Attorney Cassie Craven argued water was found in the boy's lungs and investigators didn't look deeply into whether the boy drowned.
Sawicki was facing life in prison.
