TORRINGTON — Goshen County Fire Warden Bill Law announced the lifting of a county-wide fire ban, which has been in effect since before the Great American Eclipse in mid-August.
The full lift of the ban was approved by Goshen County Commissioners Oct. 3. The ban had been placed in effect due to seasonal dry conditions, combined with the anticipated influx of visitors to Goshen County for the eclipse on Aug. 21.
The full lift of the ban goes into effect Monday, Oct. 9.
All residents, land-owners, hunters and those engaged in outdoor recreational activities must utilize common-sense practices regarding overall fire safety, the release said.
Any planned outdoor burning must still be reported to the Torrington Dispatch Center, (307) 532-7001, both before starting the burn and when it’s been extinguished.
