CHEYENNE -- The legislative redistricting bill that comes up for third and last vote in the Wyoming House today has little change from the form it was in when introduced.
The House defeated two attempts Thursday to change the bill that reconfigures the state's 60 House districts nested in 30 Senate districts to conform to new census figures.
Rep. Hans Hunt, R-Newcastle, again offered his plan that redistricts the eastern part of Wyoming primarily along county lines.
The House voted down the proposal.
Rep. Pete Illoway, R-Cheyenne, said Hunt's plan revises districts in western Laramie County without any consultation with county representatives.
The House also rejected a proposal by Rep. "Jeb" Steward R-Encampment, because of the way it was drawn.
His plan would leave Sinclair residents in their current House District 47 rather than moving them to House District 15 with Rawlins.
Instead, residents around Wamsutter would be moved into House District 15 with Rawlins.
