JACKSON — A Jackson woman has killed an elk that might be big enough to make the record books.

Trish Williams shot the bull on private land near Bondurant last week. She was hunting with a guide and says she could tell it was a big one when she saw it.

If the score of 395 holds it will make it into the Boone & Crockett record books. The world record for an American elk is 442.

Williams says she'd never seen a bull elk anywhere close to as big as that one in the area.
