SHERIDAN - A memorial service for Larry Carbone, 57, will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with inurnment to follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Bill Davis officiating.
He died on April 19, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 19,1951, in Sheridan, to Roco and Katherine Theresa (Scalise) Carbone. He grew up and attended Woodland Park Elementary School, Central Junior High School and Sheridan High School.
He went to Hawaii where he worked on a plantation for a time before returning to Sheridan.
He then went to work for Spring Creek Coal for three years before going to Coos Bay, Ore., and while in Coos Bay fell in love with Arabian horses.
He returned to Sheridan where he went to work for Legerski Meat for a short period before going to work for the Wyoming Highway Department as a truck driver and snowplow operator, retiring in 2007 after more than 20 years of service.
He was a member of the National Arabian Horse Association.
He enjoyed raising, breeding, and showing Arabian horses.
He loved white-tail deer hunting, motorcycles (in his younger days), and since he had no children of his own, loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one nephew.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Carbone, of Westminster, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces.
Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
