Helen Zingham

SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Sheridan resident Helen Zingham, 86, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan by Pastor William Heine. Interment will follow in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Dec. 26, 2004, at Sheridan Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Freeman, S.D., she was the daughter of Albert and Adella (Neoring) Pidde.

She joined the U.S. Marine Corps after the outbreak of World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.

In 1952, she married Richard "Dick" Zingham in Forest Park, Ill.

A homemaker and mother, she also helped on the family farm and loved having a large garden and canning.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Sheridan Horse Patrol. For many years, she worked in the SHP concession tent, behind the bucking chutes, at Sheridan County Fairgrounds, serving contestants and rodeo personnel.

Survivors include three children, Rick Zingham of Story and Scott Zingham and Joyce McGregor, both of Sheridan; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers and their wives, Ted Pidde of Freenzan, S.D., and Al Pidde of Charleston, S.C.; and two sisters, Elise Miller of Oak Park, Ill., and Alice Reynolds of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Herb, Wally and Marty Pidde.
