Rogelio R. Celaya 63, of Laramie died Sunday June 14, 2009 at his home in Laramie. He was born October 14, 1945 in Ajo, Arizona the son of Rodrigo and Enriqueta (Rodriquez) Celaya. He received his schooling in Ajo, graduating from Ajo High School. He entered the military serving in the United States Marines from 1964 until 1968. Returning to Arizona he married Olga Robles November 8, 1969 in Ajo. In 1976 he received his bachelor degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
While in Arizona he worked for the Ajo Copper Mine, the Arizona State government, and as a District
Administrator for Glendale Elementary School District #40. Olga passed away on December 17, 1994. On June 29, 1996 Rogelio married Cassandra Albaugh in Phoenix, Arizona. Rogelio retired from Glendale Elementary School District in 1998 then moved to Casper, Wyoming. In Casper he worked for Sutherlands until retiring in 2008 when he moved to Laramie.
He is survived by his wife Cassandra, two sons; Rogelio R. Celaya and Rodolfo Celaya of Phoenix, Arizona, one sister; Delfina Trujillo of Phoenix, Arizona;
four brothers; Manuel Celaya, Roger Celaya, Dector Celaya, all of Phoenix, Arizona, and Samuel Celaya of Boca Raton, Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held in Casper, Wyoming and Phoenix, Arizona at later dates.
