ROCK SPRINGS - Memorial services for Steve Hardesty, 67, will be 11 a.m. today, April 17, 2008, at the Vase Funeral Chapel.
Military graveside services and inurnment will be at the Mountain View Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel on today, one hour prior to services.
He died April 11, 2008, at the George E. Wahlen Vetran's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had been in ill health for the past several years.
He was born on Nov.10, 1940, in Fort Cobb, Okla., the son of the late John and Edna Peck Hardesty.
He attended school in Gruver, Texas.
He married the former Carolyn Turner on June 20, 1977, in Gruver, Texas.
He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran and had served as a platoon leader.
He was employed by Colorado Interstate Gas at Table Rock until his retirement in 1995.
His interests included spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, woodworking, woodcarving, fishing, baseball and football.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hardesty, two sons Quentin Hardesty and his wife, and Kevin Conner Hardesty all of Rock Springs, two daughters from a previous marriage, Natalie Cox and Christine Hillburn both of Oklahoma; two brothers, Johnny Hardesty and his wife of Elk City, Okla. and Jim Hardesty and his wife of Beaver, Okla.; one sister, Wanda Goolsby and her husband of Willcox, Ariz.; three sister-in-laws, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Hardesty; two brothers, Earl Hardesty and Dennis Hardesty.
