ROCK SPRINGS - Funeral services for Rock Springs resident Louis L. Kiehm, 84, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, in Vase Funeral Chapel of Rock Springs by Pastor Richard Carlson of Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church. Military graveside services will be accorded by American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24 in Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10; and one hour prior to service-time on Saturday.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 817 Massachusetts Ave., Rock Springs.

He died Sept. 1, 2004, at the home of his daughter in Magna, Utah, following a lengthy illness.

Born May 7, 1920, in Ogden, Utah, he was the son of Leonard and Rose (Nellen) Kiehm; was raised and educated in Echo and Coalville, Utah; and graduated from North Summit High School in 1938.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Oct. 26, 1945, he married Helen Combe in Ogden. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1989, after 44 years of marriage.

He was a salesman for Pacific Fruit and Produce for 37 years and retired in 1986.

Memberships included American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 151; Good Sam Club; Young At Heart Senior Citizens' Center; Wyoming Wildlife Hunter Safety; Boy Scouts of America; and Green River Squaremaiders. His interests included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, square-dancing, traveling with the Good Sam Club, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include five sons, Leonard, Donald, Louis and Stephen Kiehm, all of Rock Springs, and Douglas Kiehm and his wife of Ellsworth, Maine; daughter, Alicia Jones, and her husband of Magna; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson and two great-grandsons.
