Editor:

For generations women have been the force behind men's election to public office. We have stuffed envelopes, made phone calls, registered voters, canvassed and made coffee. Women have voted for and helped elect millions of men. It is time for that to stop, especially in Wyoming were women have no parity in state or local offices. Middle age white men dominate the state in every arena.

Women in elected positions bring a different experience and viewpoint to decision making. Women officials have been found to be more collaborative, more responsive to their constituents and better problem-solvers. Wyoming desperately needs new vision and new leadership as we go into an uncertain future.

Both political parties should be recruiting knowledgeable, well qualified Wyoming women to support as candidates at every level. Wyoming women should be running for office and lending all their support to the women who are running. The only way we can make a difference in this state is in the next election do all the work for women candidates that we have done for men for so long. In the next election do all your organizing, canvassing, phone calling and coffee making for women. I know there are many good men that will be beside us and support our efforts as we have supported theirs. The only way women in Wyoming are going to get equality in this state is to take it - times up! The time is now.
