Editor:

Being civilized is a truth more sophisticated than living within commuting range of schools for one's children's attendance. It has to do with conformity, not to any laws or taxes; rather it has to do with civility, which indicates how to live alongside of others in a manner conducive to mutual harmony.

Mutual harmony means diet, exercise and spiritual practice promoting individual health, together with available educational advantage and occupational work provisions, together with health care and recreational provisions for each and every person by whichever and whatever means, period, no question mark.

During the more than 200,000 years of tribal development fostering civilization, no person was denied food, clothing, shelter, education, occupation, health care and such, unless the tribe itself was destitute in such provisions. It has been politicians of late leading the people in neglect of such provisions, in the family of man, which has become the basis of crime, since many generations past, ever since the invention of money, fostering greed, mortified by pride.

Politicians, as ego centered self-righteous persons, failed to recognize the message of the 9/11 Twin Towers attack, as the downing of American pride and idolatry. "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me," includes everything mention-able It has been stated that democrats view the American cup as 1/2 empty, whereas republicans view the American cup as theirs.

Whatever the case may be per individual, it's no wonder that crime is pervasive among the people which, once upon a time long ago, were civilized as unconditional love for one another. Incidentally, about 2,500 to 2,000 years ago became a period known as the Great Transformation, in which the great spiritual teachers arose to lead people in spiritual ways, today known as "The Way," which politicians ignore to produce the arrogance of ignorance. Woe is we through ignorance, prejudice and superstition, as heartlessness.
