This Jan. 7 Golden Globe awards presented an exceptional show with most women wearing black in solidarity for women's rights and against sexual abuse, in hope of a sane society. Oprah Winfrey was awarded a lifetime achievement award. Upon accepting her award, Oprah began receiving calls for her running for President in 2020. What a wonderful idea! During Oprah's long-time running TV program, she occasionally had various spiritual teachers offering their recently published book which made her monthly must read book list. One particular author, Don Miguel Ruiz, authored the book "The Four Agreements," which has since been superseded by, "The Five Agreements," both in my library. The second agreement, quite particular to our ego nurtured culture is "Take Nothing Personally." Our justice culture takes things personally all over the place. When a person takes some sort of alleged offense personally, one gives his or her personal power to the appear-ant offender by belief, a trait of the cultured ego. Knowledge supersedes belief and understanding supersedes knowledge . Unfortunately on a later program, Oprah had a program concerning slander on Afro-Americans forgetting The Second Agreement, taking slander personally. Oh well, like Oprah, you and I have not achieved perfection on the spiritual pathway. Still in all, Oprah is far more spiritually informed than most every politician. Ego self-centeredness defines the politician in my book. The spiritual advocate is the teacher like Jesus, Buddha, Lao-Tse and the ego advocate is the politician like Donald Trump. What we learn from political leadership is partisanship and conflict including the U.S war machine as an international politician. Woe is we having asked for terrorism time and again by politicians and their war machine, don't you see? The politician is asleep and the teacher is awake, as the Buddha proclaimed,"I am awake." The spiritual person chooses no sides as we all are the children of God, with the exception of ego divisiveness from politicians and the exception of athletic sports in which the spiritual trait of excellence hopefully rules the way.

Oprah could present leadership the U.S. has been asking for...
