Editor:

I want to extend my appreciation to all University of Wyoming alumni and friends who came to Laramie to participate in Homecoming 2017 – “Wyoming Spirit: Wild as the West.” The week was a cornerstone event for the Alumni Association as we greeted thousands of alumni and friends who returned to campus to reconnect with old friends, faculty and staff. We enjoyed welcoming you home.

The Homecoming week began with The Big Event, a community service day presented by the Service, Leadership and Community Engagement (SLCE) Office and ended with a remarkable win by the Cowboys over the New Mexico Lobos. Congratulations Cowboys! In between these two major events, the week featured a variety of activities for alumni, students and friends.

Many people worked very hard to make this year’s Homecoming successful. I sincerely appreciate all of our UW and Laramie community partners, In particular, the President’s Office, Division of Student Affairs, each academic college, the UW Foundation, and Intercollegiate Athletics made special contributions during the week. I am extremely grateful as well to many students, in particular, those from WYOGold, ASUW and fraternity and sorority life who infused much enthusiasm and pride into campus. The support of our Homecoming sponsors, First Interstate Bank and UniWyo Federal Credit Union made a great impact on the week’s events.

All in all, it was a memorable week. The “Wyoming Spirit” could truly be felt as if flowed through Laramie and across campus and the UW Alumni Association was honored to be a part of it.

KEENER FRY, executive director University of Wyoming Alumni Association, Laramie
