Dear Director Zinke,
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to submit comments on the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Notice of Intent to Amend Land Use plans regarding Greater Sage-Grouse Conservation.
My comments are brief. My name is Ruth A. Garrett. I am 88 years old and I live in Casper, Wyoming. Throughout my life, I have enjoyed the splendor of Wyoming’s outdoors, open spaces and all of the wildlife that live in our beautiful state, including sage grouse. I am committed to being a good citizen which includes a strong conservation ethic and a recognition that our state and country have benefited from mineral development.
Put simply, I urge you and the department to change the sage-grouse plans based only on science and in a way that aligns closely with Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead’s Executive Order. I believe Governor Mead to be the finest in the land and that his plan is a good one.
Thank you for allowing me to offer comments and for your stewardship of our natural resources and public lands.
