I think everyone can agree the Great Wyoming Eclipse of 2017 was amazing. It far exceed the hype for me. Nature cooperated with mostly clear skies, the smoke added interesting effects and the clouds did not move in until five minutes after fourth contact. Perfect.
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the eclipse festival and AstroCon such great successes. You did Casper proud! West Yellowstone was the place to be and the visitors loved it.
To those Casperites who believed the fear based media, you missed a lot. Okay, not everyone enjoys crowds, but the rest of Casper was dead. Many of your favorite stores, restaurants and businesses were quiet. All because some media told you to be afraid.
May this be a lesson to all; think for yourself. It’s human nature to either let some “authority” scare you or ignore warnings altogether. A prudent person gathers information and then makes their decision. I’m sure some Texans are wishing right now that they had used their own good judgement.
