The war drums aren't beating too loudly yet, but Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul and Philip Giraldi all think we're heading towards war with Iran. We can't afford it. America's national debt is now close to $21 trillion and, according to a recent article in "Newsweek", nearly $6 trillion of it is due to the wars our leaders have gotten us into since the 9/11 attacks. The article cites a study done by the Watson Institute at Brown University that concluded the real costs of these wars, including expenses of the State Department, the VA and the Department of Homeland Security, is almost triple what the Pentagon has estimated. War with Iran wouldn't be a great idea even if we could afford it. It's a horrible idea if we can't. So when the war drums start beating seriously, remember that there would be steep costs in money and blood. Iran is mostly an Israeli problem, and also a Saudi Arabian problem. If anybody sacrifices money and blood to deal with the alleged Iranian threat, it should be them.
