GWINNETT, Ga. (AP) -- Christian Colon singled three times, and Kolby Allard allowed just four hits over 5 2/3 innings as the Gwinnett Stripers defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 6-1 on Monday.

Allard (1-0) allowed one run while striking out five and walking two to get the win.

Gwinnett went up 3-0 in the fourth after Rio Ruiz hit an RBI single and Rob Brantly hit a sacrifice fly.

Scranton/WB answered in the top of the next frame when Abiatal Avelino hit an RBI single, bringing home Billy Fleming to cut the deficit to two.

Chance Adams (0-1) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and five hits in the International League game. He also struck out four and walked four.

Gwinnett took advantage of some erratic Scranton/WB pitching, drawing a season-high six walks in its victory.
