The Casper College volleyball team closes out the regular season this weekend with home matches against Central Wyoming College and Western Wyoming Community College.

After struggling to 3-15 start to the season, the Thunderbirds have improved dramatically in Region IX North sub-region play. Casper College (12-19, 7-3 Region IX North) enters the weekend trailing only No. 14 Laramie County Community College (11-1) and Northwest College (10-2) in the sub-region standings.

A number of freshmen have stepped to the forefront for the T-Birds, with Anya Olsen, Tyler Speller and Heather Rubis (Wright) leading the team in kills; Emma Rogers and Lucie Strasser leading in assists; and Giuliana Irvine setting the pace in digs.

Friday's game against CWC is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with Saturday's match against WWCC set to start at 3 p.m. Both matches will be at Swede Erickson T-Bird Gym.
