The Casper College volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller (25-17, 24-26, 19-25, 25-17, 15-8) to No. 5 Western Nebraska Community College on Tuesday in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

For the Thunderbirds (2-7) it was their fourth loss of the season to a team ranked in the NJCAA Top 25, but it marked the first time they hadn't been swept.

The T-Birds face another ranked team Friday when they play No. 16 Arizona Western College at the CSI Invite in Twin Falls, Idaho. Casper College also plays Hutchinson Community College, Yavapai College and Monroe College in the two-day tournament.

The T-Birds play their first home match next Wednesday when they host Colorado Northwestern Community College.
