After waiting out the NFL lockout, one former Wyoming football player found a home on Tuesday.
Cornerback Marcell Gipson, undrafted in Apri's draft, signed a free-agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings.
Gipson, older brother of UW senior Tashaun Gipson, started the final 37 games of his career and played in 41 overall.
Marcell Gipson finished eighth on the team as a senior with 53 total tackles, 30 of them solo. He also had 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles (one recovered) and two blocked kicks.
Gipson often returned kicks throughout his career as well. He averaged 27.1 return yards as a senior, though he returned just seven kicks.
Former safety Chris Prosinski was drafted in the fourth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL Draft.
Wide receiver David Leonard could join Gipson among those signing deals as undrafted free agents.
