The University of Wyoming women's basketball team will open the 2017-18 season on the road, it was announced Tuesday when the Mountain West released its conference schedule.

The Cowgirls will play at San Diego State on Thursday, Jan. 28 before hosting Nevada six days later at the Arena-Auditorium.

UW plays Border War rival and defending MW champion Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Jan. 13 and hosts the Rams on Jan. 31. All MW teams play eight home-and-home games against conference opponents and two one-time games. The Cowgirls' two single games will be Feb. 10 against UNLV and Feb. 27 at Air Force.

Wyoming is coming off a season in which it finished 23-9 overall and 13-5 in MW play. The Cowgirls advanced to the second round of the WNIT before losing to Washington State 68-67 in overtime.
