The University of Wyoming women's basketball jumped out to a 41-16 halftime lead and cruised to a 73-47 season-opening victory over Adams State on Saturday at the Arena-Auditorium.

Senior Liv Roberts, returning from a knee injury, scored 14 points in 16 minutes to lead the Cowgirls. Junior Sladjana Rakovic added 13 points and sophomore Taylor Rusk chipped in with 10 points and five assists.

Wyoming shot 51 percent from the field (26 of 51) while holding Adams State to 38.8 percent (19 of 49).

The Cowgirls host Montana on Monday, with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
