BILLINGS, Mont. - Ali Hurley had 16 points and a key steal as Montana girls rallied from a 26-point first-half deficit to defeat Wyoming 84-74 Saturday night in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series.
With Montana trailing 57-54 in the third quarter, Laramie Schwenke of Malta swished a 3-pointer from the corner to tie it.
Then Hurley, Montana's Miss Basketball, came up with a steal and passed to Schwenke, who was fouled on a layup and made her free throw. Schwenke's three-point play gave Montana its first lead, 60-57, with 1:51 remaining in the third quarter.
Montana never trailed after that.
Wyoming led early, jumping ahead 24-13 after one quarter. A 15-0 run put Wyoming ahead 44-18 with 3:07 to play in the first half, but Montana used its pressure defense and a rash of steals to get within 46-30 at halftime.
Chelsey Lybeck led Wyoming with 18 points. Wyoming's Miss Basketball, Kristen Scheffler, added 15.
The victory gave Montana a sweep of this year's two-game series. Montana won 79-70 in overtime Friday night in Sheridan.
