Girls, Chelsey Lybeck (3rd-100, 4th-200, 2nd-300 hurdles); Kathryn Helmick (8th-800); Levia Abraham (4th-1600, 4th-3200); Nickell Rusk (7th-3200); Courtney Rusk (5th-high jump); Gaby Cruz (7th-long jump); Cody Milbourn (6th-shot put).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Brick Cegelski; Kyle Depew; Brian Dugas; Nick Espinoza; Josh Franke; Devin Rathburn; Ben Usry; Sean Wilde. Girls, Roxanne Box; Hillary Carlson; Shelby Cegelski; Victoria Crockett; Dez Hayes; Miki Jamerson; Alicia Noble; Shaundra Smith; Catherine West.

n OUTLOOK: Central has lots of returners on both the boys' and girls' sides. The boys are a bigger threat for a state championship, especially behind University of Kentucky recruit Ames, who already has two state meet records.

Cody Broncs

n COACH: Scott Shaffer

n LAST YEAR: Boys, fifth at state; girls, second at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Matt Neddermeyer, jr (3rd-long jump, 6th-triple jump). Girls, Alisha Reaser, jr (2nd-100, 1st-pole vault); Carli Blankenship, jr (3rd-400, 2nd-800); Holly Sonnesyn, sr (1st-high jump); Cate Brus, soph (2nd-high jump); Betsy Whisonant, soph (3rd-high jump, 6th-pole vault).

n OUTLOOK: Cody's girls have a lot of strong returners - including the top three high jumpers at state last year - and will again challenge for high honors. The boys could challenge as well if improvement comes.

Gillette Camels

n COACH: Mark Kelting, boys; Marcy Deaton, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, state champions.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Eric Strand, sr (2nd-400, 2nd-800); Paul Burke, sr (6th-800, 1st-1600, 1st-3200); Taylor Kelting, sr (5th-1600, 3rd-3200); Andrew Rose, sr (3rd-high jump); Jed Storie, jr (4th-long jump, 8th-triple jump). Girls, Kelly Ferguson, sr (5th-100, 8th-long jump, 3rd-pole vault); Katie Ford, jr (8th-100, 8th-long jump); Emily Moore, soph (1st-200, 1st-long jump, 1st-triple jump); Trisha Evenson, sr (2nd-1600, 6th-3200); Megan Gebhart, sr (3rd-3200); Bridgett Shippy, sr (2nd-100 hurdles, 6th-300 hurdles, 7th-discus); Kylie Ebner, sr (6th-100 hurdles, 2nd-long jump, 4th-triple jump); Melissa Salzar, soph (7th-100 hurdles); Marissa Curry, sr (5th-300 hurdles); Macie Cottier, sr (3rd-discus); Lacy Rodgers, jr (6th-discus); Kayla Jellum, sr (8th-shot put).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Cameron Mock, jr (hurdles, jumps); Robbie York, jr (throws); Kirby Norris, jr (throws).

n OUTLOOK: Gillette lost only one senior off last year's championship team and are primed for a repeat title. The boys' road to a repeat will hinge on young talent: Of the Gillette boys' 53 athletes, 24 are sophomores.

Kelly Walsh Trojans

n COACH: Bill Bolles, boys; Kevin Williams, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, seventh at state; girls, second at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Reed Rudkin, sr (3rd-100, 8th-long jump); Michael Loveland, sr (8th-110 hurdles). Girls, Veronica Elseroad-Wall, sr (4th-100, 2nd-200, 2nd-400, 1st-300 hurdles); Jordan Merback, jr (6th-100, 5th-200, 1st-100 hurdles, 2nd-triple jump); Kait Nyffler, jr (4th-800); Veronica Schmidt, sr (6th-1600); Nickole Strom, sr (5th-100 hurdles, 4th-300 hurdles, 5th-high jump); Stephanie Clark, sr (3rd-high jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Drew Hays, sr; Bob Metzler, sr (middle distance); Joe Giralt, sr; Beau Watt, jr (pole vault); Zach Matteau, sr (sprints). Girls, Lamb Chamberlin, sr (middle distance); Shanae Hedlund, soph (sprints); Jordan Mestas, soph (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The KW girls have 21 returning letterwinners and a ton of talent, but need depth to challenge for state again this year. The boys have balance and experience but need distance runners and throwers to step up to be a threat in May.

Laramie Plainsmen

n COACH: Gil Bradfield (26th season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, third at state; girls, 12th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Stephen Michel, jr (4th-100, 3rd-200, 7th-long jump, 2nd-triple jump); Mike Walrath, sr (4th-400, 4th-800); Matt Coughlin, sr (7th-800, 7th-1600, 7th-3200); Brian Pierre, sr (3rd-1600, 2nd-3200); Ryan Ivy, jr (6th-300 hurdles); Tommy Sullivan, sr (7th-pole vault). Girls, Brittney warren, jr (4th-pole vault, 8th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Kyle Kmetz, sr (jumps); Kyle Shulmeier, sr (distance). Girls, Jessie Curtis, sr (sprints, jumps); Mollie Feldman, sr (hurdles); Bonnie Sambrooks, sr (sprints, jumps); Keiko Matsuno, sr (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Laramie boys have a ton of returning experience and are one of the top contenders this year in 4A. The girls are more shallow but could make up ground in the sprints and jumps.

Natrona County Mustangs

n COACH: Rosie Brown, boys; Shelly Coventry, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, eighth at state; girls, seventh at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys (anticipated), Pat Raymond, jr (5th-high jump). Girls, Emily Elliott, jr (6th-400); Britney Jackson, sr (7th-high jump, 3rd-triple jump); Brianna Wood, jr (3rd-long jump, 7th-triple jump); Hannah Romsa, soph (4th-long jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Brittany Young, soph (distance); Kayla Dick, jr (hurdles); Rachel Chittim, soph (throws); Kaylee Beddes, jr (throws).

n OUTLOOK: NCHS is a young team this year - only three senior girls are out this year. If younger athletes can step up, the orange and black could climb up the standings at state.

Riverton Wolverines

n COACH: Travis McIntosh (fourth season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 12th at state; girls, 10th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, T.J. Baldwin (8th-800); A.J. Williams (6th-long jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Chemo Carillo (sprints); Trevor Drewy (sprints); James Pulver (hurdles); Cory Smith (middle distance). Girls, Olivia Wolpert (sprints, jumps); Katie Hagen (sprints, jumps); Dani Johnson (sprints, jumps); Sarah Phister (distance); Christi Zirbel (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Wolverines have talent in a variety events, and seniors in most of those. But there isn't a whole lot of depth to Riverton's team, which will hurt at regionals and state.

Sheridan Broncs

n COACH: Art Baures

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, sixth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Justin Will, soph (6th-100, 3rd-triple jump); Scott Pettit, sr (3rd-pole vault). Girls, Taylor Gardner, soph (3rd-100 hurdles).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, John Rotellini, sr. Girls, Erika Stender, jr (jumps).

n OUTLOOK: The Broncs are one of the youngest teams in 4A, with only two seniors - both on the boys' side. Development of the young athletes will be the key to Sheridan's success during the season.

Class 3A

Buffalo Bison

n LAST YEAR: Boys, fourth at state; girls, 11th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Drew Powell, sr (2nd, high jump); Clayton Kirven, sr (6th-discus); Dakota Ramey, jr (7th, shot put). Girls, Josie Vaselin, sr (6th-high jump); Chelsey Horn, soph (5th-100 hurdles).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Heather Collen, soph; Jordan Patterson, soph.

n OUTLOOK: The Bison have three seniors, five juniors, nine sophomores and 21 freshmen. It's clear some younger athletes will have to step up to give Buffalo depth to compete at regionals and state.

Glenrock Herders

n COACH: Al Finch

n LAST YEAR: Boys, sixth at state; girls, third at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Adam Halvorsen, sr (7th-110 hurdles, 4th-long jump, 5th-triple jump); Jason Lee, sr (6th-pole vault); Nic Halvorsen, jr (3rd-triple jump). Girls, Jaclyn Hunt, soph (7th-100, 5th-200); Josie Stewart, sr (6th-800, 1st-triple jump); Brooke Hughes, soph (5th-1600, 2nd-3200); Nikki Tresch, soph (6th-100 hurdles, 8th-300 hurdles); Janessa Clark, soph (5th-pole vault); Laura Dobler, sr (7th-pole vault).

n OUTLOOK: With a ton of returning state placers, the Glenrock girls are as strong as they have been in recent years. There is a solid group of upperclassmen for both boys and girls and lots of freshmen and sophomores ready to provide depth.

Pinedale Wranglers

n COACH: Richard Steege

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 13th at state; girls, sixth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Abe Pearce (5th-high jump). Girls, Sadie Nelson (1st-100, 1st-200); Chelsey Hanson (7th-long jump).

n OUTLOOK: The Wranglers have 58 athletes out this year, including 19 that lettered last year and 14 seniors. Sprinters and hurdlers should help carry Pinedale's girls, while the boys are strong in both field events and distance races.

Thermopolis Bobcats

n COACH: Matt Mason

n LAST YEAR: Boys, eighth at state; girls, 13th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Girls, Katie Donahue, jr (6th-400).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Caleb Dill, sr; K.C. Lahoe, soph. Girls, Katie Thorpe, sr; Erika White, sr; Celina Stewart, soph; Kellie Turner, soph.

n OUTLOOK: With only four seniors, the Bobcats don't have a lot of experience on a 33-person squad. A strong junior class, backed by impressive sophomores and numerous freshmen, should give Thermopolis hope for not only this year, but the future, as well.

Torrington Trailblazers

n COACH: Mark Sims (21st season), boys; Dean Sims, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, second at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Reece Posten, sr (5th-300 hurdles); Caleb Moore, sr (1st-shot put, 1st-discus); Keenan Zimmerman, jr (5th-high jump); Aaron Smith, sr (1st-triple jump; 6th-long jump); Brandon Childs, jr (2nd-pole vault); Gerald Wilmoth, jr (3rd-pole vault). Girls, Lindsey Simmons, jr (2nd-100, 2nd-200, 4th-400); Diana Long, soph (2nd-100 hurdles, 1st-300 hurdles, 7th-high jump); Mandy Mullock, jr (3rd-discus); Kala Hill, jr (3rd-pole vault); Chelsi Lemmon, jr (7th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Adam Lehmitz, sr (jumps); Dane Servantez, sr (jumps); Colin Yorges, sr (sprints). Girls, Cassie Madden, jr (hurdles); Taylor Moore, jr (throws); Nichole Swanson (throws); Katie Leet, sr (sprints).

n OUTLOOK: The Trailblazers are threats for a state team championship based on their field event performers alone. Moore, Smith and the pole vaulters will put Torrington in position to do damage at state. The girls have several returns and will be tough, too.

Wheatland Bulldogs

n COACH: John Skoog (19th season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 12th at state; girls, 16th at state.

n KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Taylor Derra, sr (middle distance); Colt Thayer, sr (middle distance); Craig Larson, sr; Scott Koenig, jr; Cody Powers, soph. Girls, Lindsey Balzan, sr; Bailey Yost, jr.

n OUTLOOK: With low numbers and no returning state placers, the Bulldogs appear to be in a rebuilding year. However, several competitors should challenge for top individual honors at state.

Worland Warriors

n COACH: Ed Wise

n LAST YEAR: Boys, ninth at state; girls, eighth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Girls, Kelsey Laib, sr (5th-100, 3rd-200); Jami Suko, sr (8th-100); Kristin Scheuerman, jr (6th-200); Stephanie Kiracofe, sr (8th-3200); Samantha Haun, jr (5th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Ryan Deromedi, sr (hurdles); Matt Rothleutner, sr (middle distance); Jacob Benson, jr (jumps); Sammy Costalez, jr (sprints). Girls, Timbree Clark, jr (throws), Shandee Abraham, soph (middle distance); Taylor Willard, soph (sprints).

n OUTLOOK: The Warrior girls have a good mix in both experience and events, and have eight returners who competed at state. The boys don't have that luxury; the Warriors are young and don't have any returning state placers.

Class 2A

Burns Broncs

n COACH: Cole Manlove, boys; Brooks Hoffman, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 13th at state; girls, state champions.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Duell Petsch, soph (5th-100). Girls, Ali Marker, sr (6th-100 hurdles, 8th-300 hurdles); Noelle Jones, jr (8th-shot put); Kelsey Eklund, soph (7th-pole vault).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Heaven Kellner, sr (middle distance, hurdles); Paige Epler, sr (sprints); Deanna Thrush, jr (throws, jumps).

n OUTLOOK: The boys have 22 athletes out, the girls 20, and goals are based on improvement on last year. In a tight 2A race, both teams could be competing for high honors by mid-May.

Greybull Buffaloes

n COACH: Jeff Sukut (11th season, 22nd overall)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, seventh at state; girls, 14th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Nate Stamstad, sr (6th-800, 4th-1600). Girls, Amy Sorensen, sr (6th-800, 4th-300 hurdles).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Layna Sukut, jr (middle distance); Carrinne Cheatham, soph (hurdles, middle distance).

n OUTLOOK: Only nine of Greybull's 25 team members lettered last year, and 14 are freshmen. If the younger athletes develop, the Buffs could improve on last year's finishes.

Lovell Bulldogs

n COACH: Joe Koritnik (third season).

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, second at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Carson Hessenthaler, jr (4th-100, 2nd-200); Braden Fink, jr (2nd-high jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Matt Koritnik, sr (throws); Dane Robertson, jr (jumps); Michael Montanez, soph (throws). Girls, Meredith Asay, sr (hurdles); Sierra Phelps, soph (hurdles); Rachel Grant, sr (jumps); Wendy Walker, jr (jumps).

n OUTLOOK: The Bulldogs lost several high placers from last year's runner-up teams. Field events are still Lovell's strength, and the Bulldogs will need to ride those if they want more high finishes at state.

Lusk Tigers

n COACH: Dennis Zowada, boys; Gary Hoopes, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, sixth at state; girls, ninth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Taylor Johnson, jr (3rd-high jump, 8th-long jump); Skyler Hoopes, jr (2nd-pole vault); Andrew Wasserburger, sr (5th-pole vault); Anthony Henry, sr (7th-shot put). Girls, Lacey Pfister, soph (4th-1600, 4th-3200); Dawn Jenkins, jr (4th-pole vault).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Cody Gault, soph (middle distance, jumps); Kaare Sigvartsen, jr (sprints). Girls, Kristen Reed, sr (sprints, pole vault); Ashley Roetman, sr (hurdles, throws); Tessa Burt, sr (throws); Megan Miller, soph (sprints, jumps); Adrienne Hammond, soph (jumps); Ashley Burt, soph (throws); Dyann Diercks, soph (throws, middle distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Tigers have a lot of returning talent, enough to make a run at state. Still, younger athletes need to fill holes to give Lusk depth.

Pine Bluffs Hornets

n COACH: Bob Cochran (second season, fifth overall), boys; Kendra Roeder, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 11th at state; girls, fifth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Nic Johnson, sr (6th-discus); Kelby Lang, sr (4th-pole vault); Ruger Eastman, jr (6th-triple jump). Girls, not provided.

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Tyler Kimzey, sr (middle distance); Troy Randall, jr (sprints); Travis Werner, soph (hurdles, jumps); Jorey Madden, soph (pole vault, hurdles); Josh Thurin, soph (distance); Braxton Clark, soph (jumps, sprints).

n OUTLOOK: The Hornets have a good core of athletes led by a strong senior class. If improvement continues to come, the Hornets will place higher this year.

Riverside Rebels

n COACH: Steve Olson (third season, 18th overall)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, eighth at state; girls, seventh at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Toby Wood (3rd-discus); Wacey Craft (7th-discus, 4th-high jump, 5th-long jump); Joseph Julliard (7th-high jump, 7th-pole vault). Girls, Ashley Vigil (4th-400, 4th-800); Jamie Hovey (5th-1600, 7th-100 hurdles, 5th-300 hurdles); Megan Jares (3rd-discus, 2nd-shot put).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Colton Zier, Josh Olson. Girls, Nicole Vavra, Amber Daughtery.

n OUTLOOK: The boys might pile up enough points in the field events alone to be a threat at state. The girls have depth in distance and should also be strong in the field events.

Saratoga Panthers

n COACH: Rex Hohnholt (seventh season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 12th at state; girls, 13th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, David Capozzoli, jr (7th-100, 7th-200, 6th-long jump); Hayden Hohnholt, soph (8th-1600, 3rd-3200); Ryan Larscheid, jr (6th-110 hurdles, 3rd-300 hurdles). Girls, Adria Grubb, soph (5th-800, 3rd-1600, 3rd-3200); Rachel Capozzoli, soph (4th-100 hurdles).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Jake Johnston, jr; Jonathan Jones, soph; Matthew Kerbs, soph; Caleb Robinson, soph. Girls, Courtney Shipman, sr; Michaela Uhling, jr.

n OUTLOOK: The Panther boys have good numbers, but most of the athletes are inexperienced. That won't take long to cure. For the girls, there's lots of talent, but a lack of numbers could hurt team race hopes.

Shoshoni Wranglers

n COACH: Tim Ervin (23rd season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 17th at state; girls, 11th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Chase McNamee, jr (7th-110 hurdles). Girls, Amber Ackerman, jr (5th-100, 5th-200); Amber Knigge, sr (8th-400, 8th-800).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Greg Scott, sr (throws); Justin Wood, sr (hurdles). Girls, Gabby Bruciaga, sr (sprints); Tess Zent, sr (sprints).

n OUTLOOK: The Wranglers have strength in several events, mostly short- and middle-distance events and hurdles. With 20 total athletes, Shoshoni will also have a bit of competition in practice.

Southeast Cyclones

n COACH: Mark Bullington, boys; Bruce Sinner, girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 14th at state; girls, 19th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, not provided. Girls, Megan House, jr (8th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Megan Peterson, sr (distance); Emily House, jr (middle distance); Katrina Eisenbarth, soph (sprints); Kaitlyn Eisenbarth, soph (sprints); Danna Croswell, soph (jumps); Shelby Weyrich, soph (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Southeast girls have only one senior and two juniors, so relying on the eight underclassmen will be necessary to make some noise in May.

Sundance Bulldogs

n COACH: Jim O'Connor (seventh season, 15th overall), boys; Julie Cross (17th season), girls.

n LAST YEAR: Boys, state champions; girls, seventh at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Cody Emrick, jr (1st-800, 1st-1600); Dude Humphrey, jr (5th-discus). Girls, Sidney Materi, jr (1st-100, 2nd-200, 3rd-high jump, 3rd-long jump); Chaisley Gill, sr (7th-300 hurdles, 4th-long jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Ben Morris, sr (middle distance); Dugan Hughes, sr (hurdles); Ray Moore, jr (throws); Nick Kerkvliet, jr (middle distance); Dalton Lyons, jr (distance). Girls, Chantelle D'Spain, sr (throws).

n OUTLOOK: The Sundance boys have lots of returning talent, but with only two seniors, need younger athletes to step up if they want to repeat as champions. The girls are a bit thin but should benefit from a strong freshman class and the return of D'Spain, who missed last year due to injury.

Wright Panthers

n COACH: Pat Neely (ninth season, 16th overall)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 19th at state; girls, 16th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Duncan Jones, soph (8th-triple jump). Girls, Marie Cook, sr (6th-1600); Tara Trottier, jr (7th-3200).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Ale Salas, soph; McKayla Porter, soph.

n OUTLOOK: Good numbers will help Wright this season, although the majority of the athletes are young. The developing depth should give the Panthers a better showing in May this year.

Class 1A

Cokeville Panthers

n COACH: Briant Teichert

n LAST YEAR: Boys, state champions; girls, second at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Brodie Birch, sr (5th-200, 4th-discus, 3rd-shot put); Trevor Thompson, sr (3rd-800, 1st-1600, 2nd-3200); Dallen Fiscus, soph (7th-1600, 5th-3200). Girls, Mary Teichert, jr (1st-800, 3rd-1600, 4th-3200); Camille Petersen, jr (7th-800, 2nd-1600, 3rd-3200); Shanna Henderson, jr (6th-100 hurdles, 5th-300 hurdles); Kebra Kallstrom, soph (5th-discus).

n OUTLOOK: With only two seniors - both boys - the Panthers will have to rely on underclassmen to get the job done this year. Cokeville has traditionally done well in distance events and have several returners in those events.

Encampment Tigers

n COACH: Howard Spenny (11th season, 29th overall)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, eighth at state; girls, 11th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Carl Remick, sr (7th-400, 4th-110 hurdles, 3rd-300 hurdles); Josh Rice, jr (7th-3200). Girls, Lauren Jenio, soph (8th-high jump, 8th-pole vault).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Cole McKinney, sr; Marion Marchetti, jr; Garrett Pantle, jr; Max Doebele, soph. Girls, Jamie Marchetti, soph; Theresa Wagnon-Sosa, soph.

n OUTLOOK: Field events will be Encampment's strength on both sides. The Tiger boys are junior-strong - nine of the 13 athletes are from the class of '08. The girls have seven participants, and only one senior.

Guernsey Vikings

n COACH: Glenn Freeburg

n LAST YEAR: Boys, fourth at state; girls, third at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Nigel Bristow, sr (4th-200, 3rd-400, 2nd-300 hurdles); David Castle, jr (5th-1600); Rage Geringer, soph (1st-triple jump). Girls, Liz Lewis, jr (7th-pole vault); Kayla Copsey, sr (3rd-shot put).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, David Moats, jr (middle distance); Austin Montgomery, jr (sprints, high jump); Nathan Martinez, jr (sprints, jumps); Chris Hull, soph (distance). Girls, Anna Troupe, sr (throws); Devonne Wambach, jr (distance); Desirai Lopez, jr (throws); Tyler Moats, soph (middle distance); Ashlee Eller, soph (middle distance).

n OUTLOOK: Guernsey has good numbers despite losing a strong senior class. They have enough talent to give some teams in 1A a scare at state.

Hanna Miners

n COACH: Jackie Jones (seventh season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, sixth at state; girls, 10th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Justin Korkow, sr (1st-100, 1st-200, 2nd-400); Kenneth Donkersgoed, sr (6th-discus, 3rd-triple jump); Tyler vanLingen, sr (7th-discus, 5th-shot put); Justin Palm, jr (8th-long jump, 6th-triple jump). Girls, Shannon Johnson, sr (7th-400, 8th-800); Cassidie DeWitt, sr (8th-400, 6th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Girls, Angela Borah, sr (sprints); Teraka Schuller, sr (hurdles, jumps); Amanda Booth, jr (sprints).

n OUTLOOK: The Miners have a strong core of returners, and will rely on underclassmen to fill in and provide depth where needed. Their improvement will be key.

Hulett Red Devils

n COACH: Orville Hess

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, ninth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Mark Oster, sr (6th-3200). Girls, Anna Letellier, soph (7th-1600); Kasia Harvey, sr (7th-3200); Mariel Pfiefer, jr (1st-discus); Sonja Neiman, jr (7th-triple jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Ty Bischoff, sr (sprints); Nick Dorsett, sr (throws); Stephen Fedora, sr (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Red Devils are a young bunch this year, but numerous enough to give the team depth. If the team gains experience during the season, it could peak at state.

Kaycee Buckaroos

n COACH: Jason Humble

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 11th at state; girls, sixth at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Tucker Brock, sr (4th-discus); Dylan Crossland, jr (4th-long jump; 7th-triple jump). Girls, Amber Lompe, jr (2nd-discus, 1st-shot put).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Michael Austin, soph (middle distance).

n OUTLOOK: There are seven athletes out for track in Kaycee this year. Six are either juniors or seniors, but three of those didn't compete last year.

Lingle Doggers

n COACH: Mike Lashley (16th season), boys; Ron Halley, girls

n LAST YEAR: Boys, second at state; girls, state champions.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Sam Hansen, sr (2nd-100, 2nd-200, 1st-400); Jorey Unverzagt, sr (6th-200); Noah Strong, soph (6th-400); Ryan Collar, sr (2nd-discus); Cody Hunt, sr (3rd-discus, 1st-shot put). Girls, not provided.

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Jarod Lineberry, sr (sprints); Josh Wilhelm, sr (middle distance); Philip Hansen, jr (throws); Skyler Lashley, soph (distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Doggers will have balance between the track and the field, and will have enough depth to put quality relay teams together.

Meeteetse Longhorns

n COACH: Fred Thomas (second season)

n LAST YEAR: Boys, 13th at state; girls, 11th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Sawyer Coggins, soph (4th-triple jump). Girls, Sarah Evans, sr (4th-100, 8th-200, 3rd-400, 3rd-long jump).

n OTHER KEY RETURNERS: Boys, Kyle Offley, jr (sprints); Taylor Roberson, sr (sprints); Darryl Thomas, sr (sprints). Girls, Karess Pinter, sr (middle distance).

n OUTLOOK: The Longhorns have solid numbers - 20 in all - and have good balance on the boys' side. The team has great potential and if they continue to improve, could be a darkhorse at state.

Ten Sleep Pioneers

n COACH: John Rogers (10th season).

n LAST YEAR: Boys and girls, 13th at state.

n RETURNING STATE PLACERS: Boys, Brandon Greet, sr (2nd-high jump). Girls, Alaina Yaracz, sr (4th-discus, 2nd-shot put); Rissa Berger, jr (6th-high jump).
