Class 5A

n CHEYENNE EAST 14, ROCK SPRINGS 0: At Rock Springs on Friday, Shane Potter was in on both of East's touchdowns as the Thunderbirds beat the Tigers in South Conference action.

Potter rna 26 times for 160 yards and scored on an 18-yard run in the fourth quarter for East (5-1, 4-0 South). Jeremiah Hunter also scored on a 6-yard pass from Potter. East out-gained Rock Springs (2-5, 1-2) 197-104.

Neil Novak paced the Tigers with 17 carries for 41 yards.

Defensively, Darin Radke led Rock Springs with 12 points, while Isaac Lopez-Smith had 14 points and 3 tackles for loss to lead East.

Class 4A

n BUFFALO 47, WHEATLAND 0: At Buffalo on Friday, Tyler Gibbs scored twice on offense and added a defensive touchdown as the Bison shut out the Bulldogs for an East Conference victory.

Gibbs scored on runs of 1 and 47 yards and also recovered a fumble in the end zone as the Bison (5-1, 2-0 East) piled up 486 yards of total offense. Ryan Kinzer added a pair of rushing touchdowns, one for 7 yards and the other for 5 yards.

Dan Long ran for a 27-yard score and Jace Jensen ran for a 61-yard TD to cap the scoring. Long finished with 21 carries for 179 yards and Gibbs ran 7 times for 132 yards.

Defensively, Gibbs and Robby Trabing had 18 points apiece as Buffalo held Wheatland (2-4, 1-2) to 132 yards of total offense.

The Bulldogs were led by Ward Anderson, who completed 13 of 33 passes for 127 yards. Quinn Zimmerman added 15 defensive points.

n LANDER 7, STAR VALLEY 6: At Lander on Friday, Garrett Irene's 6-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter - and Scott Seiler's tough extra-point kick in a snowstorm - provided the Tigers' slim margin of victory over the Braves.

Irene was 11-of-39 passing for 158 yards, and Matt Baker caught 8 passes for 132 yards for Lander (3-3, 3-1 West). Hawk Cain led the Tigers' defense with 34 points, including a pair of fumble recoveries and a blocked kick; Brode Bullington added 20 points and a blocked kick and Baker had 19 points.

Star Valley (1-6, 0-4) scored its lone touchdown on a 7-yard pass fro Claude Jenkins to Tyson Bagley in the first quarter. Lander out-gained Star Valley 205-102.

n DOUGLAS 38, TORRINGTON 7: At Douglas on Friday, Cody Bohlander's huge game led the Bearcats to the East Conference victory over the Trailblazers.

Bohlander scored 4 rushing touchdowns for Douglas (4-2, 2-0 East) on runs of 17, 14, 5 and 10 yards. He finished with 18 carries for 102 yards. He also recorded 16 defensive points, including an interception and a fumble recovery, and kicked a 25-yard field goal.

Shane Richendifer tossed a 38-yard pass to Jake Vogel to cap the scoring for Douglas. Richendifer was 4-of-11 for 81 yards; Vogel caught 2 of those for 53 yards.

Mitch Schlager scored the only touchdown for Torrington (1-5, 1-2) on a 24-yard pass from Jordan Harms. Harms finished 10-of-14 for 73 yards; Schlager ran 18 times for 51 yards and caught 3 passes for 46 yards.

Class 3A

n GLENROCK 34, MOORCROFT 0: At Moorcroft on Friday, Ryan Lee made 3 trips to the end zone as the Herders topped the Wolves in a key East Conference game.

Lee scored on runs of 2, 7 and 2 yards for Glenrock (6-0, 3-0 East). Taylor McIntyre added a pair of scores on runs of 4 and 17 yards.

McIntyre finished as the Herders' leading rusher, carrying 21 times for 158 yards. Lee added 25 carries for 112 yards and also led Glenrock in defensive points.

Dalton Hall led Moorcroft (4-2, 3-1) with 7 carries for 35 yards. Glenrock led 20-0 at halftime.

n MOUNTAIN VIEW 22, BIG PINEY 0: At Big Piney on Friday, the Buffalos used a strong defensive effort to beat the Punchers and notch their first win of the season.

Mountain View (1-6, 1-2 West) held Big Piney (0-6, 0-3) to 61 total yards - 38 on the ground, 23 in the air. Jake Bullinger threw a pair of touchdown passes, one a 76-yarder to Justin Maldonado and the other a 16-yarder to Chris Maldonado. Bullinger finished 5-of-12 for 130 yards).

Kyle Watson added an 11-yard touchdown run and Tyson Foianini ran 29 times for 156 yards. Clint Lamb notched a safety for the Buffalos and Zachary Brown led the defense with 15 points.

Shane Copleand ran 9 times for 35 yards for Big Piney, and Ben Howard tallied 39 defensive points.

n KEMMERER 40, PINEDALE 0: At Pinedale on Friday, the Rangers wrapped up the West Conference championship by shutting out the Wranglers.

Kemmerer (6-0, 4-0 West) will take the No. 2 seed into the Class 3A playoffs. Pinedale (3-3, 3-1) will also host a first-round playoff game.

Further details were not available at the Star-Tribune's press deadline.

n WRIGHT 48, LYMAN 8: At Wright on Friday, the Panthers' Duncan Jones scored 3 touchdowns as Wright scored the blowout victory over the Eagles.

Jones scored on runs of 4, 1 and 4 yards for Wright (4-2). Ryan Burget scored on runs of 8 and 9 yards and Jesse Wolf scored on a 29-yard run. Wolf finished with 13 carries for 145 yards and Burget had 13 for 108 yards. Wright did not complete a pass, but out-gained Lyman (0-6) 360-58 and led 40-0 at halftime.

Defensively, Holden Fauber fronted Wright with 24 points, including 3 fumble recoveries. Blake Condos led Lyman's defense with 22 points and 15 tackles.

David Huntsman had Lyman's only touchdown on a 12-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Class 2A

n WIND RIVER 36, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 6: At Byron on Friday, the Cougars' Michael Runner scored twice as Wind River rebounded to beat the Grizzlies in a West Conference game.

Runner scored on runs of 10 and 55 yards and finished with 13 carries for 91 yards. Justin Whitt contributed 16 carries for 112 yards and a 2-yard score for Wind River (5-1, 3-1 West), and Trent Jordan threw a 33-yard TD pass to Trey Simmons.

Jordan finished 4-of-14 for 88 yards.

Josh Pingleton scored the lone touchdown for Rocky Mountain (3-3, 1-3) on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

n BIG HORN 24, GREYBULL 6: At Big Horn on Friday, Matt Metzger scored all 3 of the Rams' touchdowns as Big Horn beat the Buffaloes to stay unbeaten.

Metzger scored on runs of 7, 8 and 7 yards fro the Rams (6-0, 3-0 West) and finished with 16 carries for 103 yards. Michael Klepperich added 8 carries for 61 yards and Colby Wollenman had a 26-yard field goal and 3 extra points.

Defensively, Tim Mendoza finished with 23 points for the Rams, including 10 tackles and a pair of blocked punts.

Hayden Goton had the only touchdown for Greybll (3-3, 1-2) on a 8-yard pass from Clay Cundall in the final minute of the fourth quarter. Cundall finished with 15 carries for 39 yards and Chase Goton had 12 carries for 37 yards. Sean Sylvester added 3 catches for 40 yards.

The Rams out-gained the Buffs 208-119.

n RIVERSIDE 14, TONGUE RIVER 12: At Dayton on Friday, Matt Craft was in on both of Riverside's touchdowns and had a huge game on the ground as the Rebels rallied from a 12-0 first-quarter deficit to beat the Eagles.

Craft ran 24 times for 165 yards and scored on a 7-yard run and also had an 11-yard scoring pass to Mike Herebia. The pass to Herebia came with 7 minutes remaining in the game and ended up being the game-winner.

Defensively, Craft and Herebia had 9 tackles apiece, while Caleb Flores and Jeff Joyce each blocked kicks for Riverside (3-3, 2-1 West).

Brailey Benton scored on a 3-yard run and threw a 23-yard touchdown to Andrew Orchard for Tongue River (0-6, 0-3), but left during the first half after an injury. The Eagles were also hampered by losing 4 fumbles.

Logan Matthews led the Eagles' defense with 20 tackles. Brett Collins added 15 tackles and Bubba Poglajen added an interception and a fumble recovery.

n LUSK 14, SARATOGA 10: At Saratoga on Friday, the Tigers scored early in the fourth quarter to secure the East Conference victory over the Panthers.

Saratoga (1-4, 0-3 East) led 10-7 at halftime. Sam Gates scored on a 21-yard pass from Ransom Gates and Sam Streeter added a 37-yard field goal.

Lusk improved to 6-0, 4-0.

n BURNS 47, SUNDANCE 6: At Newcastle on Friday, the Broncs racked up big yards on the ground to swamp the Bulldogs in an East Conference meeting.

Duell Petsch did most of the damage for Burns (5-0, 3-0 East), scoring on 4 of his 9 carries. He finished with 88 total yards. Frank Vossler added a pair of scores and ran 11 times for 83 yards; Cory Sutherland also scored a rushing TD and finished with 3 carries for 67 yards. As a team, Burns ran for 305 yards.

Sundance (2-4, 1-2) was held to 31 rushing yards. Tyler Hartl scored for the Bulldogs on a 6-yard pass from Hayden Johnston in the second quarter.

Defensively, Petsch led Burns with 9 tackles, including 5 for loss. Ben Taylor had a pair of interceptions and Vossler had 6 tackles, 3 for loss. Walker Noyce fronted Sundance's defense with 5 tackles.

Class 1A

n HULETT 22, GUERNSEY 6: At Hulett on Friday, the Red Devils picked up a key East Conference victory and moved into second place in the conference by beating the Vikings.

Leland Pfeifer, Curtis Clark and Brandon Fulk all scored for Hulett (4-2, 3-1 East). Pfeifer scored on a 1-yard run, Clark added a 55-yard punt return for a score and Fulk tallied a TD on a 14-yard pass from Dylan Bush.

Austin Snook led Hulett's defense with 12 tackles; Pfeifer added 11 and Lincoln Driskill had 9, including a pair of sacks and 3 tackles for loss. Hulett led 16-0 at halftime.

Stats for Guernsey (2-3, 2-1) were not available.

n SOUTHEAST 27, NORMATIVE SERVICES 12: At Yoder on Friday, the Cyclones had two backs go over the century mark as they beat the Wolves in an East Conference matchup.

Tanner May ran 21 times for 140 yards and Blake Herbst added 17 carries for 135 yards as Southeast (5-1, 3-0 East) piled up 352 yards of total offense - 345 of those on the ground. Herbst scored twice on the ground on runs of 2 and 20 yards in the first quarter, May added a 2-yard touchdown run and Brodie Epler caught a 6-yard scoring pass from Steven Bullington.

Defensively, Southeast held NSI (0-5, 0-3) to minus-36 rushing yards. The Wolves finished with 85 yards of total offense, as Rocky Villa completed 8 of 14 passes for 121 yards. Ronzel Cooper caught 4 balls for 51 yards and Carlton Johnson caught a pair of passes for 54 yards.

Johnson scored on a 49-yard pass and Cooper added a 17-yard scoring catch; Villa threw both TDs.

Jamal Butler led NSI's defense with 9 tackles and Salvador Maldenado had 7 1/2 tackles. Jacob Foos led Southeast with 5 1/2 tackles, including 4 1/2 for loss.

Six-man

n MIDWEST 37, TEN SLEEP 34: At Midwest on Friday, Adam VanNorman scored 3 times as the Oilers beat the Pioneers (2-2), avenging a loss from earlier this season.

VanNorman scored on runs of 23, 19 and 29 yards and finished with 18 carries for 150 yards for Midwest (2-4). Cameron Linch added scoring runs of 10 and 18 yards, both in the fourth quarter. He finished with 6 carries for 39 yards.

Interclass

n WORLAND 20, THERMOPOLIS 0: At Worland on Friday, Taylor Reuer paced the 4A Warriors' big night on the ground as they beat the 3A Bobcats.

Reuer ran 23 times for 87 yards and scored on runs of 6 and 2 yards for Worland (3-4). Cody Smith also had a big night, rushing 23 times for 123 yards, including a 6-yard score.

Defensively, Robert Heyer led the Warriors with 23 points. Dan Norskog had 36 points - including 23 tackles - and Chris Leyba had 28 points - including 14 tackles - to lead the defense for Thermopolis (1-5).

K.C. Lahoe was the Bobcats' leading offensive player, carrying 16 times for 44 yards.

Class 4A

n KELLY WALSH 3, EVANSTON 0: At Casper on Friday, the Trojans notched the West Conference sweep by taking efficient care of the Red Devils.

KW coach Jeff Barkell said he was pround of how the Trojans (23-2, 5-1 West) handled Evanston's pressure and neutralized their blocking ability.

"We were lucky enough to get the ball past their blocks enough to pull away at the critical times," Barkell said.

KW hosts Star Valley at 11:30 a.m. today.
