CHEYENNE - If nothing else, Jackson and Sheridan will settle the state championship on the court against each other.

The co-leaders of the girls' division through two days of the Wyoming State High School Tennis Championships will meet each other in the finals of both the No. 2 doubles and No. 3 doubles brackets, deciding points that will be key in deciding the state champion.

Tied with 28 points apiece heading into the final day of play, Jackson and Sheridan also have players advancing deep into the singles brackets. Sheridan's Emily Holst will play in the championship of the No. 1 singles bracket, while Jackson's Madison Pachoe is in the finals at No. 2 singles. Jackson also has Mady Gerard playing in the consolation finals of the No. 1 singles bracket.

Defending champion Kelly Walsh is third at 22 points, but has players alive in only two of the five brackets. Natrona County is close behind in fifth with 20 points.

There will be an all-Casper final in the girls No. 1 doubles bracket, as KW's Maddy Graham and Bridget Sharon will face NC's Natalie Jennings and Corey Ellbogen.

Natrona County's Jordan Hendricks is in the finals of the No. 2 singles bracket, while Kelly Walsh has Michelle Burback playing today in the consolation finals of the same bracket.

For the boys, defending champion Gillette has a five-point lead on the rest of the field and has doubles teams in the finals of all three brackets. Both of the Camels' singles players will be playing in the consolation finals.

Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central remain in striking distance, tied for second with 26 points; Gillette has 31.

Kelly Walsh will have all three of its doubles teams in the consolation finals of their respective brackets. Cobi Eskew and Justin Harris will be playing in the consolation finals of the No. 1 doubles bracket, Derek Munday and Logan Hendrickson are still alive in the No. 2 doubles bracket and Jon Whipps and Adam Katz are in the consolation finals at No. 3 doubles.

The tournament will conclude today with the championship and consolation finals matches. Matches will begin at 8 a.m. at Cheyenne Central High School.
