The Casper Coyotes announced on Tuesday that they had signed defenseman Hunter Brown, a graduate of the Casper Oilers hockey club.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Brown is the third Casper native and the fourth player from the state of Wyoming to sign with the Coyotes. Previously, Logan Spiegelberg and Dallen Neese from Casper and Will Champman from Jackson signed with the team.

The Coyotes, a member of the Western States Hockey League, open their season Friday when they host the University of Wyoming club team at the Casper Ice Arena. Casper opens the regular season on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 when they welcome the Superior (Colo.) Roughriders to town.
