As first reported by KUGR's Steve Core, Green River head football coach Don Maggi resigned Monday.

Maggi was 38-31 in seven seasons in Green River, leading the Wolves to the Class 3A semifinals five times. They advanced to the state championship game in 2015 before losing to Star Valley. Green River went 7-3 this season, losing 17-13 at Torrington in the semifinals.

Maggi is the sixth coach to step down since the season ended, joining Don Julian at Sheridan, Drew Severn at Cheyenne Central, John Rounds at Lander, Doug Hazen at Lovell and Tom Waring at Wheatland.
