This dates for this weekend’s scheduled state golf meets have been changed while one of the regional tennis tournaments has been cancelled due to weather concerns.

The Class 3A golf meet in Douglas will be played Thursday and Friday, while the Class 4A meet in Evanston and Class 2A meet in Sheridan will be played Monday and Tuesday because of the inclement weather in the forecast.

Weather was also an issue for state golf last year when the 3A and 2A meets were limited to just one day. Class 4A teams soldiered through the elements to complete both days but officials did meet to discuss cancelling the final rounds.

Meanwhile, the North Regional tennis tournament that was scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Sheridan has been cancelled. The regional pairings will carry over to the state tournament, which is in Gillette on Sept. 21-22. The South Regional in Cheyenne is still on as scheduled.

Temperatures across the state are expected to be in the 50’s with scattered rain and thunderstorms. Snow early Saturday morning is a possibility in higher elevation areas.
