University of Wyoming track and field head coach Bryan Berryhill announced eight new additions to the 2018-19 roster on Wednesday, five of which are Wyoming high school products.

Tyler Dahl (Laramie), McKenzi Davison (Big Piney), Pete Mead (Cheyenne East), Julia Kay O'Neill (Powell) and Roman Smith (Wheatland) will all compete for UW.

Dahl has state championships as a member of the 2017 indoor and outdoor 4x400 relay teams. He's finished third at state in the 400 meters the past two seasons and recently finished fourth (first among 4A runners) in the 400 at the annual Wyoming Track & Field Classic.

Davison earned silver in the 1,600 and 800 in addition to a bronze in the 400 at last year's state meet.

Mead won the individual high jump and was part of East's winning 4x200 relay team during the indoor season. He placed fourth in long jump at last year's state outdoor meet.

O'Neill won the 400 and 800 as a freshman at the 2015 state meet and finished second last season. She recently finished second in the 800 at the Wyoming Track & Field Classic.

Smith is the two-time defending state champion in both the outdoor 100 and 200 and earned gold in both 55 and 200 during this indoor season.
