After four performances at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, two sets of Wyoming team ropers sit atop the first go-round standings.

The team of Wheaton Williams (Big Horn) and Jerren Johnson (Casper) lead the way with a 5.97-second run while brothers Kellan and Carson Johnson (Casper) are No. 2 with a 6.34 after Tuesday morning's performances.

Saratoga's Kasen York leads the all-around rookie cowboy standings thanks to being tied for ninth (with Casey Budge from Kelly) in boys cutting and sitting 10th in the reined cow horse standings.

Other Wyoming competitors currently in the top 20 of the first go are McKinnon steer wrestler Chance Anderson (5th with a time of 6.08 seconds), Gillette pole bender Shay Hough (7th with a 20.151), Casper bull rider Cole Kilts (tied for 8th with a 73), Osage bareback bronc rider Thomas Davis (11th with a 66), Thermopolis saddle bronc rider Koy Myers (12th with a 62) and Rock Springs saddle bronc rider Ira Dickinson (14th with a 58).

Wyoming leads the boys team standings while the girls team is 14th. Overall, Wyoming is in fourth place.

The NHSFR runs through Saturday at the Cam-Plex.
