Cowley bareback bronc rider JR Vezain finished second in the average at the Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo on Saturday after tying for the final-round win.

Vezain, who entered the rodeo fifth in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association bareback standings, had an 86-point ride on D&H Rodeo's Down Under to tie average winner Clayton Biglow in the final round. Biglow won the average with a two-head total of 172 points; Vezain was second with 168 and Ranchester's Seth Hardwick was third with 167.

Other average winners were steer wrestler Rowdy Parrott, team ropers Clay Smith and Paul Eaves and Tyler Wade and Billie Jack Saebens, saddle bronc rider Jacobs Crawley, tie-down roper Jake Pratt, barrel racer Stevi Hillman and bull rider Tristan Mize.
