The Gillette College women’s rodeo team won their fourth consecutive Central Rocky Mountain Region team title at Central Wyoming College’s Rustler Roundup over the weekend.

Even though the Pronghorns didn’t win any individual titles, Rickie Engesser finished third in both breakaway roping and goat tying, and teamed with Jacob Kammerer to place fifth in team roping. She accounted for 260 of the team’s 295 points as the Pronghorns finished ahead of the University of Wyoming (270) and Central Wyoming College (240) in the team standings.

Casper College’s Siarra Johnson won the barrel racing with a two-run time of 34.96 seconds, UW’s Justene Hirsig won the breakaway with a two-run time of 4.6 seconds and CWC’s Tymber Taylor was the goat tying champ with a two-run time of 15.2 seconds.

Northeastern (Colo.) Junior College won the men’s team title with 580 points on the strength of a 1-2 finish from Jace Staudt and Ty Spickelmier in the tie-down roping.

Sheridan College was second with 490 points thanks to individual titles from bareback bronc rider Hunter Carlson and saddle bronc rider Lane Schuelke. Chadron State College’s Devin Dibbern won the steer wrestling to help his team to a third-place finish with 440 points.

Other event winners were UW’s Coby Lane in bull riding and the team roping tandem of Gillette College’s Kellan Johnson and Casper College’s Trey Yates.

The CRMR wraps up its fall season this weekend at the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.

Not surprisingly, Gillette College is the runaway leader in the women’s team standings. The Pronghorns have amassed 1,815 points for the season the UW Cowgirls are a distant second with 805 points.

Sheridan College leads the men’s standings with 1,735 points, followed by Gillette College (1,525) and LCCC (1,325).
