Current Laramie County Community College rodeo coach Beau Clark will take over the University of Wyoming men’s and women’s programs after this season, it was announced Thursday.
Now in his second year at LCCC, Clark currently has the Golden Eagles’ men’s team in second place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region with two rodeos remaining. The women’s team is in fifth place in the region standings.
Clark, who served as an assistant coach at Montana State for three years prior to taking over at LCCC, will assume his coaching duties at UW on June 19, the day after the College National Finals Rodeo. He will be replacing longtime UW coach George Howard, who died unexpectedly last November. Former Cowgirl competitor Lydia Coe, a former assistant under Howard, has served as UW’s coach throughout the spring season.
The next regional rodeo is Casper College’s Ropin’ and Riggin’ Days on April 20-22.
