Former Cody resident and Northwest College cowboy Shane Proctor added to his "Cowboy Christmas" haul by winning the all-around and bull riding titles at the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo that finished Saturday.

Proctor, who earlier in the week won the all-around and bull riding at the Cody Stampede, scored 88 points on Flying Diamond Rodeo Company's Fudge at St. Paul to win the bull riding and pocket $9,411.

The 2011 world champion bull rider entered the week 18th in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association standings in the event and fourth in the all-around.

Four other cowboys with Wyoming ties joined Proctor in the winner's circle over the weekend.

  • Riverton's John Franzen won the steer wrestling title at the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche, S.D.
  • Casper's Jhett Johnson, a former world champion, partnered with Aaron Tsinigne to win the team roping at the same rodeo.
  • Hyatville saddle bronc rider Chanse Darling, who competed at Casper College, tied for the top spot at the Steamboat Springs (Colo.) ProRodeo Series.
  • Former University of Wyoming steer wrestler K.C. Jones tied for first at the Oakley Independence Days Rodeo in Oakley City, Utah.

In addition, at the Molalla (Ore.) Buckeroo Rodeo, former Gillette College standout Cole Elshere tied for third in saddle bronc and Cowley's JR Vezain and Laramie's Seth Hardwick tied for fourth in the bareback bronc riding.

And at the Black Hills Roundup, Sundance's Mac Erickson was second in the bareback, Bryce Miller (Casper College) was third and Sheridan's Chet Johnson fifth in saddle bronc, Dane Kissack (Gillette College) finished second in tie-down roping and Nikki Steffes (UW) placed third in barrel racing.
