Become a collector and show off your life's work in individual rooms. If you like snowmen, display them in the guest room. If Santa's your thing, put all of him in the office or den. "You can collected anything. Whatever you like and whatever makes it fun for you," Debbie Bishop said. Growing up, one of her sons adored the Denver Broncos. So, she brought out all his football memorabilia for the Merry Broncos Christmas room, complete with a miniature Christmas tree with football ornaments and purple-and-orange candy canes. Another son loved Coca-Cola. She decked a small storage room with his red-and-white memorabilia: An assortment of Coke cards, cases of collector Coke bottles, and even a Coke-a-Cola Barbie. Which brings us to another Bishop Christmas tip. Decorating little Christmas trees in a room's theme is an instant way to bring the holidays to your collections. Her three sons always helped her decorate small trees for their rooms growing up. "It just made it fun for them and it always got them involved," Debbie said. Plus, decorating with your collections makes shopping easy. You always know what to shop for and people will start giving you items they find.
Five-month-old 'Ronning Ruff Ruff' is up for adoption at Metro Animal Shelter. A note from his former owner reads, "I love to be with old kids. I love to be outside and inside, too. I love to go for walks. I love to talk to you. I love to play with my toy. I have not had my shots. I come from a litter of nine. I'm a pit-bull and chow mix. I am a good puppy."
