Grammy Award-winning a cappella group Take 6 performs tonight at the University of Wyoming.
The group has won 10 Grammys and one Soul Train award.
Take 6 got its start at Oakwood College in Huntsville, Ala. It began as a gospel sextet and evolved into a blend of traditional gospel, R&B, jazz and pop music. The group's latest CD, "The Standard," is straight jazz, according to a release.
The group has collaborated with artists including Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Queen Latifah, Quincy Jones and k.d. lang.
Audiences might recognize Take 6's sound from the "Dick Tracy" soundtrack, Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" and John Singleton's "Boyz n the Hood."
