Stotts celebrate 50th

Dennis R. Stotts and Andrea (Zack) Stotts will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on December 6, 2019. Family and friends will celebrate the special milestone with the couple in the spring of 2020.

They were married December 6, 1969, in Las Vegas after having met through a mutual friend while living in California. They are 45-year residents of Casper.

He graduated from Cal Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a BS in Industrial Technology. She graduated from UW with a BS in Natural Science and Mathematics and Casper College with her Associates Degree in Nursing.

He was born in Lander and raised in Thermopolis. He volunteered for service in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He had a sign painting business in San Luis Obispo while attending Cal Poly. After graduation, he moved the family to Wyoming and worked for FMC (Green River) and then Amoco Pipeline in Casper before becoming self employed in property development.

She was born in Cleveland and raised in Fontana, California. She attended UCSB and worked at Kaiser Permanente, Santa Barbara Community Hospital and IBM while in California. She obtained her nursing degree after moving to Wyoming with her family. She worked for Casper Orthopedics as a medical transcriptionist, and worked as a nurse for 30 years at Wyoming Medical Center and Casper Surgical Center.

She was president of Council of Catholic Women, member of Catholic Daughters of America, taught CCD at St. Patrick’s parish, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She also assisted with transition and mentorship of the Quach family from Vietnam who were being sponsored by the St. Patrick’s parish to gain their citizenship.

He has volunteered his time, equipment and talents with the Tate Museum excavating Lee Rex, a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

They enjoy traveling, enjoying the outdoors with their dog, Louie, and spending time with their children and their families. They are both generous giving of their time and talents helping neighbors, friends and family members.

They have four children, Mark (Teresa) Stotts, Matthew (Courtney) Stotts, Anne Stotts and Katie Stotts. Their seven grandchildren are Matthew’s, Jimmy Smith, Ruby Stotts, Matthew Jr. Stotts, Brandon Stotts and Jimmy Stotts; Mark’s, Anna Marie Stotts, and Anne’s, Joshua Spielman. Their two great-grandchildren are Gracie Smith and Jack Smith, (deceased).
