Free tax help

IRS certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals through April 12 at the United Way offices, 350 Big Horn Road, behind True Companies off Poplar St.

Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Parkinson’s exercise

Rocky Mountain Therapy is offering a Parkinson’s exercise program on Tuesdays. The group meets Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Therapy, 2546 East 2nd Street, Building #500.

The exercise class is open to anyone with Parkinson’s Disease and focuses on improving balance, endurance, safety and managing symptoms. It is open to all ages and the class can be tailored to meet varying exercise needs. The cost of the exercise class is $5. If you have any questions call 577-5204 and ask for Jerri or Amanda.

Public comment on nursing program

The public is invited to meet a site visit team from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing at 5:15 p.m. in the Saunders Health Science Center, Rm. 111.

Every eight years the Casper College Nursing Department is reviewed for continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The nursing program has been continuously accredited since the initial accreditation was received in January 1979, the longest of any community college in Wyoming.

Those attending the meeting will be able to share their comments about the nursing program with the site visit team.

The Saunders Health Science Center is located on the Casper College campus.

Dem men hear about CAEDA

The Democratic Men’s Group meets at 5:30 p.m., at the Yellowstone Garage, 355 W. Yellowstone Hwy. The speaker is Charles Walsh, president/CEO, of CAEDA (Casper Area Economic Development Alliance). FamilySearch workshop

The Family History Center, in partnership with the Natrona County Library, will hold their monthly FamilySearch workshop from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Natrona County Library. In this month’s class, Genealogist Cindy Blevins will provide a demonstration on how to use source hints and attach records to your family tree. Additional Family History Center volunteers will be on hand for one-on-one assistance. Computers will be available. A follow-up lesson on hard-to-find records will follow on April 9. Never Too Old book club

A discussion of young adult book “All Rights Reserved” by Gregory Scott Katsoulis will be held at 6:30 p.m., at Frosted Tops. The Never Too Old Book Club, sponsored by the Natrona County Library, discusses young adult literature with adult appeal. The group is open to both teens and adults, with parent-teen pairs especially encouraged. Stop by the library’s second floor desk to register and pick up a copy of this month’s book. Basic crochet and knitting

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit or crochet, or need some help with reading patterns? Sign up for the Basic Crochet and Knitting class held at the Casper Recreation Center. The session will be held at 6 p.m., on Tuesdays, starting March 12. Sign up for the class at the Recreation Center. You can register online at Active Casper or contact the Rec Center at 235-8383. There are several spots available.

Fly Casters meet

The monthly meeting of Wyoming Fly Casters will occur at 7 p.m. at the Casper Municipal Golf Course Clubhouse. All members and the interested public are invited.
