AMSTERDAM — The five-member University of Wyoming PetroBowl team fell in the third round of the international competition to test students' knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
The UW team lost Monday to the eventual champions from the University of Tulsa.
UW's engineering contingent was the top-seeded team heading into the 13th international PetroBowl.
A total of 36 universities from around the world competed in the daylong tournament for top prizes in the event.
PetroBowl matched student chapter teams against each other in a fast-paced quiz competition.
The teams were challenged to answer both technical and non-technical questions associated with the oil and gas industry.
The tournament attracted several international teams, including Brazil, China, Colombia, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
