Caspar Collins Day 2017

This year’s Caspar Collins Day at the fort includes a buffalo hunter demonstration, shootout, 19th century characters, ranch activities, vendors, food trucks and pictures on a real Texas longhorn. Historian John Hart will talk about his book “Bluecoat and Pioneer: The Recollections of John Benton Hart,” from stories of his great-grandfather stationed at Platte Bridge Station, including an account of the battle in which Collins was killed.
