Heart Mountain Pilgrimage week events include children’s author Shig Yabu reading “Hello, Maggie!” 10 a.m. Thursday July 25 at Park County Library followed by a Q&A with the illustrator, veteran Disney animator Willie Ito, about their experiences in the camps.

Sharon Yamato’s short documentary “Moving Walls” 5:30 p.m. Thursday July 25 will screen at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West before a panel discussion led by Arthur A. Hansen with Yamato, historian Mike Mackey and former incarcerees Takashi Hoshizaki and Raymond S. Uno. A reception will follow.

A screening of new documentary “Norman Mineta and His Legacy: An American Story” will take place 10 a.m. Friday July 26 at the Wynona Thompson Auditorium followed by a discussion with the filmmakers as well as lifelong friends Mineta and former senator Alan Simpson, who met as boys at Heart Mountain.

The Holiday Inn in Cody hosts a 7 p.m. Friday July 26 screening at of short documentary “Return to Foretop’s Father" followed by a Q&A with Apsáalooke (Crow) elder Grant Bulltail and filmmaker Preston Randolph follows the film.

Where: Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, 1539 Road 19, Powell, between Cody and Powell on Highway 14A, and other venues in Cody

Cost: Free, seating is limited at many venues and early arrival is encouraged.
