Los Lobos

» cheyenne » sunday

Los Lobos began as an East L.A. garage band who called themselves Los Lobos del Este (de Los Angeles), a play on a popular norteno band, Los Lobos del Norte. Their crossover 1987 hit, “La Bamba,” reached No. 1 on the U.S. and UK singles charts, and their latest album is “Gates of Gold.”

As Los Lobos celebrated their 30th anniversary, Rolling Stone in 2003 described the band’s rock, blues, soul and Mexican folk music fusion: “This is what happens when five guys create a magical sound, then stick together…to see how far it can take them.”
